Coolest Features of the 2021 Lexus IS
The newest IS is chock full of cool tech and performance goodies.
Refreshing Update
The 2021 Lexus IS debuted to much fanfare recently, mostly thanks to its handsome refreshed looks, retuned chassis, and the addition of some welcome modern tech features. It may not be the all-new vehicle some were hoping for, but the 2021 IS has thus far proven to be a wholly adequate update for the long-running luxury sedan. Thus, we thought it would be prudent to take a look at some of the coolest features of the newest IS that we enthusiasts can appreciate.

Adaptive Suspension
Lexus put a great deal of time and effort into making the IS a fun car to drive, and much of that work went into refining the chassis. Along with the use of aluminum to shed weight, the 2021 IS' optional adaptive suspension is great for both normal driving and weekends at the track, adding an element of adjustability to the car's new, lighter coil springs and anti-roll bars.

Dynamic Handling Package
On the same token, the optional Dynamic Handling Package is one's ticket to the adaptive suspension, offering adjustable dampers, lightweight wheels to reduce rotating mass, Lexus' Sport Plus drive mode, and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential - all goodies that most of us can appreciate.

Triple Beam LED Headlights
Most modern cars these days feature trick headlights, and the IS is no exception. The new model's triple beam LED units are obviously cool to look at, but they're also brighter and safer at night. Additionally, the 2021 IS' Adaptive Front Lighting System further enhances visibility in poor conditions.

Performance Upgrades
Those that want the most performance from their new luxury sedan will undoubtedly want to wait for the V8-powered IS 500, but the IS 350's 3.5-liter V6 offers plenty of bang for the buck as well. With 311 horsepower on tap, the rear-wheel-drive IS 350 can do 0-60 in a solid 5.6 seconds, while all-wheel-drive is also available.

Modern Infotainment
The outgoing IS was widely panned for its lack of modern tech features, particularly related to its infotainment system. That has been addressed with the 2021 IS, however, which adds a new 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster for a truly modern experience.

Sum of Its Parts
Add it all together, and the 2021 Lexus IS is clearly a compelling option in the ever-shrinking luxury sedan segment. Personally, we're just happy that Lexus has refused to give up fighting in this space, as so many others have, while also continuing to offer an enticing product for those of us that still love the art of driving.
