What is the "Black Line?"

Lexus is making just 650 examples of their RC Coupes in a very special edition clad in all-black trim. This exclusive color combo is only available with the four-cylinder RC 300 or the six-cylinder RC 350 variants. The V8 performance version of the RC model, the RC F, however, will sadly not be available in this color scheme.

Exterior

On the outside, the Black Line comes in (no surprises here) either a beautiful black or dark silver gloss paint. Black accents on the windows and side mirrors substitute the usual chrome panels for a distinct look in comparison to a basic RC. The wheels are also matte black to round out the theme of the aesthetic. When putting in the order for your RC Sport Black Line, you can specify your brake calipers to be either black to blend in with the look of the car or orange for a Halloween-ish contrast in colors.

Interior

Inside the cabin, the passengers are greeted by all-black leather with orange contrast stitching. This leather is soft to the touch and meticulously crafted as it should be for the price point. The driver gets to grip the all-black steering wheel with black-stained wood on the upper section for command of the sleek midnight hued coupe. The interior keeps the same infotainment and technology as the 2017 models but the subtle touch of finesse across the interior trim gives you that appropriate feeling of exclusivity.

Performance

The RC 300 RWD makes 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft from its 2.0L in-line four-cylinder engine. The 4WD version of the model makes 260 hp and 236 lb-ft from its 3.5L six-cylinder. The RC 350 RWD and 4WD, on the other hand, make an identical 311 hp and 277 lb-ft from their 3.5L six-cylinder engines. That powerplant is good for a 0-60 sprint in six seconds flat!

Price

The base price for the RWD turbocharged four-cylinder model comes in at $52,725. The prices go higher and higher with different trims until they eventually reach the top-spec price of $57,115 for the 4WD naturally-aspirated, six-cylinder model. For a little less than $10,000 extra you can have yourself an RC F rather than the top-trim Black Line RC Coupe. We're not trying to dissuade you from a Black Line RC but just giving a bit of food for thought...
