Proper Bargain

Despite their stellar track record and continued popularity, you can still buy pristine older Lexus vehicles for reasonable amounts of money. Case in point? This beautiful Diamond White Pearl SC400, which raked in just $10k at a recent Bring a Trailer auction. This is obviously a good thing for buyers, of course, but not such great news for sellers. Regardless, this gem is worth a closer look.

Holding Up

This particular Lexus has lived most of its life in the sunny Southeast, accumulating just 81k miles over the years. It's also been well-maintained during that time, as well as kept factory fresh. The bumpers have received a repaint, but the body is in otherwise excellent original shape. Otherwise, there are no accidents of damage to report.

Pure Gold

Given the pearl white paint, we can't think of a more appropriate set of wheels than those optional, dealer-installed 16″ gold-centered alloy wheels. The brakes have been serviced recently, but the 2012 date-coded tires are probably nearing the end of their serviceable life. At least we'd replace them, just to be on the safe side.

Luxuriously Trimmed

The interior of this SC400 is trimmed in the ever-popular beige color and looks no worse for wear. It's accentuated nicely with an assortment of wood trim, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Everything else is pretty much top-notch for 1995, including a trunk-mounted 12-disc CD changer in case you kept that old collection of yours.

Functioning Perfectly

Of course, this Lexus also features power everything, including the windows, locks, and seats. The factory sound system remains intact, and everything looks and functions perfectly, save for a few inoperable diodes in the instrument cluster. Perhaps more encouraging, this sublime Lexus has been driven quite a bit lately - 6,000 miles in the last six months, to be exact.

Extensive Maintenance

The car's 4.0-liter DOHC 1UZ-FE V8 promises long-term reliability, and it's been treated to recent replacements of the timing belt, idler pulley, tensioner, valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals, spark plugs, distributor caps, ignition coils, plug wires, thermostat, battery, alternator, and battery terminals, along with a full fluids change.

Long-Term Value

Considering its overall condition, it sure seems like $10k isn't much to pay for this particular SC. This is a car that's proven to last a very long time, and we're betting the new owner will do just that. And maybe even sell the car for the same or even a higher price than they paid for it to begin with!
