Surefire Hit

The Lexus LC 500 is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars on the road today, and it's also pretty nice to drive, too. There are a few qualms of course, namely the fact that we'd like it to have more power and a bit less weight. Regardless, the LC hasn't sold in huge quantities, is a bargain to buy second-hand, and it might just be a surefire future collectible, too.

Holding Up

Even after being on the market for a while, few cars draw the attention an LC does when it rolls in the parking lot. This is a serious head-turner, and you won't find many people who disagree. The LC, like every other Lexus product, is also built to a high degree of quality, which means that it'll hold up for many years to come as well.

Content per Dollar

With flawless build quality and some seriously premium options, the LC punches far above its weight class in terms of content per dollar. Buyers won't have to worry about spending a ton of money maintaining them or repairing them for years down the road, too, which is something that few other pricey exotic or grand touring cars can say.

Relatively Rare

Despite its many attributes, the LC has proven to be a niche product, which was to be expected. After all, with a price tag near $100k and two doors, this car isn't for everyone. But that's also a good thing in terms of future collectible status. Only a few thousand LCs have been sold since its introduction, making them relatively rare right out of the box.

Fun to Drive

Though it may not have the most power and performance in the high-end grand touring segment, the LC is undoubtedly fun to drive. The steering and suspension are excellent, though they cant' completely nullify the car's hefty curb weight. Regardless, the LC is undoubtedly fun to drive, and that's a big part of its appeal, too.

One Big Question

The biggest question mark with the LC is which one will be the most collectible - the 500, or the hybrid? We'd lean toward the 500, of course, but it accounts for 70-80% of total LC sales, making the hybrid a very rare car itself. So it will be interesting to see how the market eventually shakes out.

No Regrets

Personally, we don't think that owning an LC is a losing proposition by any means, especially if you pick up a used one in great shape at a huge discount. Even if the car doesn't turn out to be an appreciating asset, we doubt anyone who owns one will ever regret it.
