Japanese Exclusives

Both the Lexus NX and UX compete in the ultra-popular compact luxury crossover segment. Which means that the automaker has to constantly offer up interesting and unique options to stay afloat. For 2020, that means the arrival of two special new models - the Bronze Edition and Blue Edition. Unfortunately, however, both are exclusive to the Japanese market.

Bronzed Up

The Bronze Edition NX takes the bronze accents of the Black Line Edition model a few steps further. Lexus starts out with an NX 300 with the  "I package" trim level and then paints it Sonic Titanium Metallic. They then fit the 'ute with bronze-painted 18-inch aluminum wheels, a black-painted spindle grille and frame, and body-color wheel arch moldings.

Additional Touches

The treatment continues to the interior, where you'll also find a host of bronze accents and tech features including a blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, parking support brake, black power retractable side mirrors, door welcome lighting, and a hands-free power tailgate. Picking up a Bronze Edition NX will set you back a little over $44k for a front-wheel-drive model or $47k for all-wheel-drive.

Smaller and Bluer

If you fancy something a little smaller (and bluer), Lexus is also selling what it calls the UX Blue Edition. This model is painted, of course, in Celestial Blue. But it also features glass flakes in the paint that really sparkle in direct sunlight. For this particular model, Lexus starts out with a UX 200.

Lots of Features

The Blue Edition UX comes with 17-inch Dark Gray Metallic alloy wheels, a cobalt and black interior design scheme with a contrasting blue dashboard ornament panel, black fabric seats with white stitching, and aluminum scuff plates with Lexus lettering. Additional standard equipment includes LED fog lamps and cornering lamps, roof rails, a hands-free power tailgate, and parking support brake. Bringing one home will cost you just a hair under $37k.

Standing Out

Lexus continues to offer customers a wide array of packages and special editions, which are a great way to set yourself apart from the growing sea of crossovers and SUVs out there in the world. Now, if we could just get them to bring these two cool models to our shores!
