471 horsepower is enough to see a sprint to 60 in a quoted 4.4 seconds according to Lexus.com. This isn’t light speed by modern definition, but that’s not the point of this car. It’s a GT that is meant to cover big distance in endless comfort while hauling tail. To that end, Lexus chose to make this car a 4 seater with a great sound track. This thing rips with a top speed of 170mph.
Naturally Aspirated
Naturally aspirated engines are a rare breed these days. With manufacturers coming under pressure to up their mpg and turbocharge it’s great to see a touring car without turbochargers. This is a classic way to build a car of this nature that shows Lexus pay incredible attention to detail when delivering an all-encompassing driving experience. Transmission is quick and precise which pairs well with the nature of the car.

Cost of Build Quality
At $100,000 the car is expensive among rivals which makes it a bit of a tough sell. True Lexus fans will understand the blend between performance and luxury that meet in this unique machine. The LC500 nails every aspect of design, but faces stiff opposition when classed against cars like the Porsche 911. Still, for those interested, it’s hard to imagine buying something different. It really is better looking than any cars in its class.

We Should Do This More Often
Lexus should make cars like this more often. Once in a blue moon, we get reminded of how good they are when they decide to give us a sports car, but that’s not enough. The interior, exterior and overall impression this car leaves blows the doors off of other cars you can buy for the money (even if they are faster). The LC500 is everything you can want from a fast car that cruises in perfect comfort. Thanks for reading.
