All the Stops

Lexus typically always has something extra cool in store for attendees at the Tokyo Auto Salon each year, and 2023 is certainly no exception. This year, the luxury brand brought out all the stops with not only the new all-electric RZ Sport Concept, but also a total of four outdoor-focused models - the RX Outdoor Concept, ROV Concept 2, GX Outdoor Concept, and the LX 600 Off-Road Team Jaos rig.

Adventurous Build

The RX Outdoor Concept shows what's possible with the brand new, redesigned crossover, adding a bevy of upgrades including additional KC and LED lighting, a skid plate, 18-inch Rays wheels wrapped with 265/60R18 all-terrain tires, and a Feldon Shelter Hawk Nest rooftop tent, instantly transforming the luxurious vehicle into a more adventurous overnighter.

Side-by-Side Sequel

Meanwhile, the ROV Concept 2 builds upon the original Lexus side-by-side by once again offering hydrogen power in the form of a 1.0-liter inline three-cylinder DOHC engine, a sequential transmission, and locking differentials, as well as a custom adjustable suspension. Inside, however, luxurious appointments such as leather-wrapped surfaces and a suspension seat set it apart from other, similar vehicles.

Luxurious Racer

The Team Jaos LX 600 is nothing new, of course, having already competed at the iconic Baja 1000 off-road race, but it also made an appearance in Tokyo for fans to check out up close and in person. Competing in the Stock Full Class, the racing version of the LX 600 is largely OEM, with only the necessary safety enhancements present - proving that the big SUV is still a capable off-road machine.

Proven Platform

Finally, we have the GX Outdoor Concept, which builds upon an already capable and proven platform with the addition of a CBI Off-Road front bumper, front skid plate, mid skid plate, rocker protection, and roof rack, along with a Yakima rooftop tent, Rigid light bars on the roof rack and front bumper, a Warn winch, Old Man Emu suspension, and Toyo Open Country mud-terrain tires measuring LT275/65R18.
