1. Lexus RC F 10th Anniversary Edition

It's been ten full years since Lexus introduced the world to the IS F. And even though we can't buy that truly excellent car anymore, we've got more F cars to choose from than ever before. To celebrate the first decade of F performance, Lexus is offering up a pair of special edition models based on the RC F and GS F. The only bad news? These special cars are for Japan only.

Unfortunately, Lexus isn't talking production numbers on these special models just yet. But rest assured, they will be "limited" production vehicles for sure. Both will go on sale in Japan in spring of 2018. And like every other F car, Lexus' vision for these anniversary edition rides is quite simple. Their mission is "to create sports cars that can put smiles on the faces of anyone who wants to have fun driving, regardless of skill."

The interior of the F anniversary cars comes trimmed in black, with distinct "Heat Blue" accents covering portions of the seats, the steering wheel, part of the dash, and the shift knob. This lends a very striking look to the inside of both the RC F and GS F, one that certainly sets them apart from "regular" F cars.

In addition, the F anniversary models come with a special plaque in the center console announcing to all those who enter that they're riding in something special. It also appears that the cars will be individually numbered. At least it looks that way in the case of these official Lexus photos, as both cars sport the number 500 along with a "10th Anniversary Limited" nomenclature.

The exterior of the RC F and GS F anniversary models comes clad in exterior components made from CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic). These touches are most evident on the RC F, which sports a striking contrast between the add-on carbon-look body panels and the regular bodywork.

6. Lexus GS F 10th Anniversary Edition

The GS F, on the other hand, sports a monochromatic matte gray appearance, at least in these press photos. Regardless, both cars sport an identical 0.33 drag coefficient, despite carrying unique bodywork. Both cars also use the same powertrains as their "regular" F brethren, meaning both have a naturally aspirated, 5.0-liter V8 producing 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque.

7. Lexus GS F 10th Anniversary Edition

The RC F will go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, while the GS F takes an extra tenth of a second to get there. Despite that, both cars top out at an identical 168 mph. In this case, it really just boils down to your styling preference. And if you get caught in a race with one or the other, pure driver skill will ultimately win out.

Lexus didn't completely pass on the chance to add a little performance to their anniversary F cars, however. Both come equipped with performance shock absorbers for improved steering stability, as well as lightweight titanium mufflers. And those Heat Blue brake calipers look pretty cool, too.

There's no denying the impact that the F brand has had on Lexus as an automotive manufacturer. Prior to the introduction of legendary cars like the IS F and LFA, not too many thought of the brand as anything close to synonymous with performance. And now, with a full decade under their belt, we can't wait to see what kind of special F cars Lexus has up their sleeve moving forward.
