Lexus Debuts New Nishijin LS500h Variant in India
India gets a very cool and unique LS variant with some attractive interior styling.
Unique Variant
The Lexus LS serves as the automaker's flagship model, as it has since the brand's inception. But depending on where you are in the world, the LS comes in various different forms, too. Take India for example, where Lexus just pulled the covers off the new Nishijin LS500h variant, which has some pretty cool and unique details that set it apart from other versions of the luxurious sedan.

Source of Inspiration
The Nishijin's interior ornamentation of "Nishijin & Haku" gets its inspiration from the "path of moonlight on the sea" which is a mysterious natural phenomenon that can only be witnessed for a limited number of days before, after, and during a full moon. During this time, moonlight forms a long and narrow path on the surface of the ocean, and sparkles of light on moonlit waves captivate with delicate gradation.

Like the Ocean
The ornamentation is created by intricately weaving silver threads of "Nishijin" brocade to express shimmering "waves" and applying the extremely thin "Haku" platinum metal foil reminiscent of moonlight shining on waves.

Other Updates
Aside from the addition of the Nishijin edition, the LS500h receives a few other updates in India for the 2021 model year. They include the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, revised steering wheel and center console controls, and a revised bumper design.

New Color
The updated LS500h is also available in a new exterior color dubbed Gin-ei Luster - a special silver that delicately reacts to even slight amounts of surrounding light. Gin-ei Luster is applied using the latest paint technology, resulting in a smooth, mirror-like texture that is all but absent of a granular touch.

Pricing
The 2021 Lexus LS500h is available now with a starting price of INR 1,91,32,000, while the new LS500h Nishijin variant has an MSRP of INR 2,22,09,000.
