Lexus GX 460 Wins All-Women Off-Road Rebelle Rally
All-women Rebelle Rally offers up plenty of challenges, but Lexus LX 460 driving crew navigated their way to a win.
Winning Team
The Rebelle Off-Road Rally is unique for a variety of reasons. For starters, only women are allowed to participate. Secondly, participants aren't allowed to use any modern technology to navigate their way across 1,440 miles of Nevada and California desert. Despite these obstacles, the X Elles, a Lexus-supported all-women team fielding a completely stock 2019 GX 460, took home the win in this year's rally.

Doing It Old School
Teams participating in the Rebelle Rally aren't allowed to use things like GPS or cell phones to find their way across this rugged desert terrain, either. But those little niggles didn't seem to slow down Lexus' team, Rachelle Croft and Taylor Pawley. The experienced off-road racers beat out 37 other teams over eight days of intense competition.

Pure Competition
The team scored not only a first-place overall finish but also a win in the bone stock category, which is impressive for a non-modified vehicle competing against highly modified vehicles. But the Rebelle Rally is more about competition than all-out speed and requires a mix of brains, skill, and a rugged rig to take home a win.

Off-Road Accumen
Across the 1,400+ miles of desert, Rebelle participants must blend their expertise of off-road acumen with exceptional navigational skills that incorporate such elements as headings, hidden checkpoints, time management, and distance using maps, compass, and road books. Regardless, everyone in attendance came away impressed with how well the LX performed.

Handle It
"The rally definitely showcased the capabilities of the Lexus," said Emily Miller, Rebelle Rally Organizer. "It handled every type of terrain, from rocks, ruts, steep climbs, and descents, to America’s biggest dunes with ease. It is truly impressive to see a bone stock GX take the overall win."

Luxurious and Capable
Lexus USA was more than happy to supply the LX 460 for the X Elles team as well. After all, this is a truly revolutionary and groundbreaking event for a number of reasons. And it's also a great way to showcase the fact that the LX isn't just a supremely luxurious ride, it's also quite capable off-road as well.

Comfort Zone
"Our experience in this Rally will be one I never forget and one of the hardest things I’ve done," said Rachelle Croft of the X Elles. "Competing for 8 days with 80 incredible women – you can’t help but come out on the other side a different person. This rally pushes you out of your comfort zone to show you what you are capable of with a group of women cheering and helping each other along the entire way."

Busy Schedule
Croft and Pawley originally met in 2016 at the Northwest Overland Rally during a navigation class. Croft is a Montana native, wife, mom of three, business owner, and driver who works with her husband Clay Croft producing and starring in the series, "Expedition Overland."

Living the Dream
Pawley is a native Oregonian who has spent the last three years traveling the world. She is also the co-founder of Women Overlanding the World and a two-time Rebelle competitor. Both Croft and Pawley are huge proponents of encouraging other women to get out, explore the world, and live out their own adventurous dreams.

Clearly, Lexus is rather pleased with the performance as well.
