Second Chance

For the 2022 model year, the Lexus GX received the Black Line treatment for the very first time, giving a select number of buyers a more upscale look and feel compared to the regular model. The GX Black Line is making a comeback for the 2023 model year as well, giving those that missed out on the SUV the first time another chance to bring one home.

Limited Edition

The 2023 Lexus GX460 Black Line is based on the Premium trim and is limited to just 3,000 units for the new year, meaning that it will be exclusive once more. On the outside, the Black Line can be distinguished by its many unique touches, which include the new exterior paint option of Eminent White Pearl, which joins Obsidian and the Black Line-exclusive Nori Green Pearl in the lineup.

Dark Features

The GX460 Black Line Edition features a darker finish on the skid plate, fog lamp, and grille, and clear taillamps with black inserts (also found on the Sport Design Package). The Black Line SE also includes unique 18-inch glossy black wheels, while the roof spoiler and shark fin are now painted black as well.

Interior Upgrades

Inside the cabin, the GX Black Line comes with Lexus' Panoramic View Monitor as standard equipment, along with new Boulder Gray NuLuxe-trimmed seats, a black headliner, and Gray stitching and Black Matte Ash Wood ornamentation on the steering wheel.

Notable Changes

As for the regular GX, it receives a few notable changes for the new model year as well. Those include a few changes to exterior color options, as Eminent White Pearl replaces Starfire Pearl and Claret Mica has been deleted altogether. The Luxury grade also receives a key upgrade with the addition of a standard Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio system.

Popular Option

Otherwise, the GX soldiers on largely unchanged, with the same basic bones as the second-generation model that debuted in 2009. Regardless, for those that appreciate a large, spacious, luxurious, and capable SUV, it's easy to see why the GX remains a popular option.
