New Limited Sports Car

After releasing 2019 IS F 300 Sport Black Line Edition eight months ago, Lexus decided to drop another IS F iteration for the 2020 model year. The 2020 Lexus IS F 300 Sport Black Line Edition is a special car that will be offered either with an all-wheel-drive or a rear-wheel-drive system. It will be limited to only 900 units for the U.S. market, making it a rare car to own.

A Recap

The 2019 Black Line Edition debuted in February last year and was available in three colors: Obsidian Black, Ultra White, and Atomic Silver. The car was heavily dressed on the inside with some nice visual changes including two-tone seats. The 18-inch split-spoke wheels and Black Vapor Chrome finish help the exterior of the car to pop. Sadly, Lexus didn't offer any engine upgrades to the car.

More Options for Lexus Fans

Lexus thought it was a good idea to drop the 2020 Black Line Edition version in the same year. The automaker probably got too excited or wanted to leverage the opportunity that exists with the Black Line Edition nameplate. Either way, Lexus fans get to have more options to bring the car home. Those who never got a chance to buy the first version can now make orders for the 2020 model year and get their own slice of the limited edition pie.

Wheels and Color

It comes with 18-inch split-spoke wheels, black exterior mirrors, and a black chrome grille surround at the front. There are three exterior colors available: Ultra White, Obsidian, and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0. Lexus has also added a few other changes to the special sedan that improve the car's exclusivity.

Upholstery

Lexus takes the darkened theme to the inside of the IS F Sport by including black and grey seats with Indigo Blue stitching. The stitching can also be seen on the door trim, dash, and knee pads. The seats are covered in NuLuxe faux leather while the heated wood steering wheel comes with Indigo Blue accents to create a splashy contrast.

The IS F Sport Black Line Special Edition includes a few tech updates that improve on its functionality. Buyers get a navigation system, blind-spot monitoring, and triple-beam LED headlights. Lexus adds a SmartAccess key card for the 2020 model which can easily slide into your wallet.

The rear-wheel-drive IS 300 version features a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that produces 241 horsepower. It's linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver power to the rear wheels. For those that want more, the all-wheel-drive version comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 255 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The special edition IS 300 comes with a 6-speed automatic and a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 260 horsepower. Both all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive versions of the IS 350 F Sport have a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 311 horsepower. The rear-wheel version has an 8-speed automatic while the all-wheel version has a 6-speed automatic transmission.
