Gorgeous Creation

While automotive styling is highly subjective, there are a few models out there that we can all come together and agree on, whether that be a good thing or bad thing. In the case of the Lexus LC, it's certainly a good thing, because there aren't many out there that don't find the stunning coupe/convertible to be quite the gorgeous creation. Thus, it's no surprise that this shooting brake version of the LC - dreamed up by Sugar Design - is arguably as good-looking.

Perfect Match

The lines of the LC lend themselves nicely to the shooting brake treatment, which is essentially just a sporty wagon. And while the LC was obviously designed as a two-seat sports car, a more practical version makes quite a bit of sense in a world obsessed with crossovers and SUVs.

Filling the Void

After all, not everyone wants a utility vehicle - some prefer to drive something sporty and stylish, yet also need some extra cargo space to store gear, even if they don't have extra family members to carry around. And that's precisely where an LC shooting brake like this could fill a large void in the automotive market.

Interesting Line

These renderings certainly fit the bill, and are masterfully done not just from an artistic standpoint, but also from a designer's point of view. The only criticism some might have lies in the body line near the rear, which cuts up dramatically behind the back of the doors, but that's also present on the coupe and convertible versions.

Tying It Together

Regardless, Sugar Design did a great job of incorporating a rear cargo section into the LC, keeping it pillar less down the sides until you get to the rear, where a very nice-looking body color piece ties the roof and rear haunches together.

Visually Interesting

The rear glass slopes forward, eating away at cargo space but also keeping the sleek, swoopy look that the LC is famous for. A two-tone treatment of a lighter silver over the car's gray body color is also a nice touch, helping to make this section more visually interesting.

Unlikely To Happen

Overall, these renderings represent one heck of a solid effort - and the results are rather nice to look at, too. Of course, it's highly unlikely that Lexus would ever make an LC shooting brake and sell it to the public, but we can certainly dream, no?
