Lexus LC Shooting Brake Is an Interesting Concept
The shooting brake treatment looks great applied to the LC coupe.

Hot Rod Hauler
Wagons and shooting brakes are what one might call acquired tastes, even in the world of the automotive enthusiast. We dig hot-rodded family and cargo haulers, so naturally, we're also fans of this Lexus LC shooting brake rendered by artist Rain Prisk. It also doesn't hurt that one of the best-looking vehicles on the road today also looks quite good with an enlarged cargo area, too.

Makes Sense
However, an LC shooting brake also makes a lot of sense on a logistical level, too. After all, this is a car that's built to be a super luxurious, super comfortable grand touring machine. Adding some space for extra luggage, well, that makes a ton of sense in this case.

Finding Inspiration
Prisk has quite a bit of experience rendering new and interesting versions of cars that don't exist and most recently created a shooting brake variant of the legendary Ferrari Daytona. That inspired him to also apply that same treatment to the equally gorgeous LC, and we think it turned out fantastic.

Plenty of Skill
While it may seem like a simple task to just extend the LC's rear roofline all the way back, this sort of job takes a bit more skill than that, and Prisk has that in spades. He did a masterful job stretching out the rear glass, and the whole thing looks very OEM.

Compare and Contrast
To us, the shooting brake treatment doesn't detract from the LC one bit, which makes this creation all the more impressive, especially when we compare it side-by-side with the stock coupe and even the convertible, seen here.

Business Sense
As for how likely it is that we see a production version of the LC shooting brake concept, well, it's not likely to happen. The LC is, after all, a pretty low-volume car targeted at a specific audience. Narrowing that down to an even smaller group of buyers just doesn't make sense for the automaker, as much as we like it.
