Lexus LF-Overland Concept Is the Future SUV We Want

Lexus has churned out a handful of custom, one-off, off-road-focused vehicles in recent years, aiming to show enthusiasts just what's possible with its offerings. However, the luxury brand hasn't gone so far as to offer us some sort of turnkey vehicle in this vein. Now, that's precisely what an artist named Raymond W has conjured up with these renderings of what he calls the Lexus LF-Overland.

Chiseled Looks

While immediately recognizable as a Lexus, the LF-Overland concept looks like nothing else in the brand's current lineup, which isn't a bad thing in this case. Rather, Raymond took a different approach by giving his imaginary model a very chiseled appearance, which only accents the familiar spindle grille up front.

Off-Road Features

Thin, curvy LED lighting at both ends gives the SUV a more modern appearance as well, along with a "floating" roof. And since this is supposed to be an off-road vehicle, there are features such as a skid plate and black fender flares, though you won't find any meaty all-terrain tires underneath - just a set of large wheels wrapped with sportier rubber.

Futuristic Features

Like some models in other countries, this concept also features cameras in lieu of traditional side mirrors, which aren't currently legal for use in the U.S. Flush door handles are yet another modern touch that have become pretty common on newer models - particularly EVs.

Muscular and Attractive

The idea this particular concept is to provide customers with a rugged, capable vehicle that also sports Lexus styling and luxury, and we'd say that Raymond nailed all of that in one fell swoop. This concept's design is undeniably attractive, as well as muscular.

Emerging Talent

It also speaks to the emerging talent out there in the world of design - we've seen our fair share of amazing concepts coming from younger students and artists in recent years, and that certainly gives us hope that cool ideas like this can come to fruition.
