Lexus RX 400h Is a Proper Bargain For Used Vehicle Shoppers

In these unprecedented times, it's become incredibly difficult to find a good deal on any vehicle, whether it be new or used, thanks to soaring prices brought on by various supply constraints. However, there are still some deals to be found on good vehicles, and that includes the Lexus RX 400h. This ultra-popular crossover was a smash hit when it launched nearly 20 years ago, but today, it's pretty easy to find one for a good price.

Groundbreaker

The RX 400h is a historically significant vehicle as the very first hybrid luxury crossover/SUV, and it helped legitimize that same segment as well. Today, buyers have tons of hybrids to choose from, and we can at least partially thank Lexus for that. It took the German competition years to catch up in that regard.

Older Features

Thus, even though it's nearly 20 years old, the RX 400h is still a pretty modern machine, save for things like the old fashioned infotainment screen, which dates the crossover. However, if things like that don't bother you, the RX 400h offers up plenty in the way of luxury, efficiency, and comfort.

Plentiful Inventory

The first RX hybrid is also a very reliable machine, which is one of Lexus' biggest hallmarks. It received quite a bit of recognition over the years for that attribute, and to most, it also looks pretty good after aging a bit. There's plenty of inventory to boot, as the RX has been Lexus' best-selling vehicle for some time.

Good Numbers

Thanks to its innovative hybrid system, the RX 400h was originally rated to achieve just shy of 35 miles-per-gallon in combined city and highway driving, which is very good for a crossover of this size. Performance is solid as well, as the vehicle's 3.3-liter gas engine and twin electric motors offer up 269 horsepower, good for a 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds.

Well Equipped Bargain

Finally, another nice thing about the RX 400h is that it came with an impressive list of standard equipment, which means that there aren't any bare-bones examples out there in the world. And considering what these things sell for - anywhere from $6k-$10k or so, depending on mileage and condition - that makes them a proper bargain.
