Lexus RX: Sexiest SUV Currently on the Market?
Daily Slideshow: Many have lauded the daring design of the RX, and it's safe to say we are big fans. But here's what the people of Club Lexus have to say about the SUV.
Sexiest SUV Alive?
These days, the SUV is America's transportation vessel of choice. There's no denying that fact. Heck, you can't throw a rock in your local mall parking lot without hitting at least 20 of them. But we are not talking about their utility here. What we want to know is, what's the sexiest SUV on the road? We think that title easily belongs to the Lexus RX, and many of our Club Lexus members seem to agree.
Nothing Better
Member goto35 got the party started with a rather bold claim. "The new RX looks better than a Lamborghini Urus. Which got me thinking - what is the sexiest SUV out there? Model X? What else guys? What's sexier than an RX?"

Alternative Options
Some folks have some other models in mind, and they're all good ones, too. Hoovey2411 says " [it's a] very subjective topic. I like most of the Land Rovers, the new Aviator, F-Pace, and Macan."

Define Sexy?
There are also those who have some pretty unconventional choices. Johnhav430, for one, says "the new CR-V is the best ever. Not like oyster with hot sauce aphrodisiac sexy, but not too shabby. A close second is the Nissan Rogue. Every bit as sexy as Billy Madison's housekeeper." At least he's got a good sense of humor!

Cookie Cutter
People like GFerg don't find SUVs charming at all. "I don't find any SUV sexy. At the end of the day, they are all built for a purpose and the silhouettes on most SUVs are too similar. The ones I do like though are the Levante, Velar, Urus, and the Alfa. The rest, I can pick out of a hat and be fine driving it."

Throwing Shade?
And there are also the few who aren't fans of the RX. Forum member bitkahuna remarks "it sells well. Lexus decided to make the RX 'look at me' instead of 'I refuse to stand out.' But that's not inconsistent with the ORIGINAL model which was absolutely unique and new in its styling. With the unending number of creases and angles on the current one, I personally don't like it at all."

Catching On
Perhaps, as JDR76 notes, the design just needs to grow on you? "When the 4th gens came out, I was impartial at best. But now, a few years later, they've had time to grow on me and I think they look nice in particular colors/trims. For example, I do like them in Atomic Silver with the F Sport package."

Beautiful or Bizarre?
At the other end of the spectrum, riredale just hasn't fallen for the RX as of yet, no matter how long it's been around. "I'm glad the current RX is selling. I would never buy one. But I loved the old RX, and loved the look of the 2010-12 front end. So that's what I bought. The extreme styling of the current RX will look as dated as the bizarre 'wings' on the rear of the '59 Chevys one day."

Listen to the Market
Our resident automotive designer here at the Club Lexus headquarters certainly approves of the RX's unconventional styling. He notes that the design of the Lexus SUV, although controversial, is a step in the right direction in today's auto industry where everything pretty much looks the same, and most cars lack any personality.
And at the end of the day, the numbers don't lie. The design is selling, as peteharvey points out. "I find the new RX attractive. You don't find the new RX attractive, though in the past few years, the RX has been America's best-selling luxury motor vehicle.
