Lexus Shows Off the Future of Luxury SUVs in LA

Up Close and In Person

Lexus just rolled out the brand new 2022 NX and LX 600, giving new life to its aging crossover/SUV lineup. Thus, it was eager to show them off at the 2021 LA Auto Show, where both vehicles shined alongside the rest of the Lexus lineup and a host of accessories from the luxury brand. For many, it was their first chance to see both of these exciting new models up close and in person.

New Ride

Scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealers in the beginning of 2022, the all-new 2022 LX 600 features an also brand new 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine, a newly re-engineered body-on-frame platform, fresh exterior styling, and a super luxurious cabin.

Two Examples

Lexus showcased the first-ever Lexus LX Ultra Luxury and Lexus LX F Sport models in Los Angeles, which are two of five grades available. The Lexus-first four-seat Ultra Luxury grade enhances the LX lineup with special attention paid to the rear passenger space and their experience. Guests preferring a sportier look and feel can check out the first-ever F SPORT grade - with its unique design touches and handling.

New Tech

Auto show guests could also see the all-new 2022 Lexus NX, which boasts an entirely new platform making it longer, wider, and taller for more passenger and cargo space. Powertrain options include a new 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine and the first-ever Lexus plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, the NX 450h+, with an EPA-estimated 36-mile range on electric power. The 2022 NX comes equipped with next-generation Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 technology and Digital Latch with Safe Exit Assist to alert the driver and passengers to avoid the risk of accidental door contact with vehicles or cyclists.

Seamless Integration

New for 2022, the North American-developed Lexus Interface multimedia system allows the LX and NX to seamlessly integrate and navigate life’s twists and turns. Incorporating a new Voice Assistant designed with voice recognition with natural language understanding, the system aims to provide a natural and easy-to-use interaction for the vehicle occupants.

In the Cloud

The available cloud navigation with Google Points of Interest (POI), is integrated to ensure up-to-date search capability. The system also offers wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, along with Lexus Interface User Profile feature - the driver’s personalized settings such as screen mode and preferences such as audio favorites, can be retained in the cloud and accessible on the go in other Lexus Interface equipped vehicles.

Other Experiences

The Lexus booth at the LA Auto Show also featured a Lexus Interface simulator, which allowed guests to engage in the features of the all-new connected multimedia system. Auto show attendees could also take part in the Mark Levinson in-car listening experience, showing off the latest in a long line of stereo systems from the luxury brand.
