Many Factors

When it comes time to plunk down our hard-earned money on a new vehicle, many are quick to realize that there is an abundance of options out there for the taking. This is particularly true for those who aren't brand loyal, of course, but crossover/SUV fans will find plenty of good ones to choose from in the current Lexus lineup. Thus, we've rounded up five of the best models that represent the best values of the bunch, based not only on pricing - but also on ownership costs and reliability.

Lexus UX

First up, we have the least expensive - and smallest - crossover in the current Lexus lineup, the UX. Still a fairly new product after debuting in 2019, the UX can be had for as little as the mid-$20k range on the used vehicle market, while a new example will set one back at least $34k. Regardless, the UX provides a lot of bang for the proverbial buck thanks to its luxurious features and solid reliability scores, at least for those who don't need a ton of passenger and cargo space.

Lexus NX

The Lexus NX is a bit bigger than the UX, and it has been around a bit longer, too, having just been treated to an extensive redo in 2022. Savvy shoppers can find nice examples from the 2016-2018 model years in the mid-$20k range, while a new one will set you back at least $36k. However, the NX is a solid choice in its segment that offers buyers plenty of amenities luxury, reliability, and an impressive depreciation rate of just 53.5 percent.

Lexus RX

The RX is one of the oldest Lexus crossovers in the lineup, but has long been its most popular, too. Fresh off a redesign, the new RX is J.D. Power's top-ranked premium midsize SUV and has an MSRP of around $45k, but for those that don't have to have the latest and greatest model, a nice 2018 will set one back far less - in the low- to mid-$30k range, offering up loads of value along with an impressive depreciation rate of just 53.5 percent.

Lexus GX

Lexus just pulled the covers off the totally redesigned GX, which is more of a boxy, old-school-looking SUV than the current model. However, the current-gen GX remains a fantastic value and has been a bit overlooked for years now - except among those looking for a capable and luxurious vehicle. The GX has a stellar depreciation rate of 53.4 percent and can be had for as little as the $20k range on the used market, with new 2023 models going for around $53k or more.

Lexus LX

Finally, we have the range-topping LX, which is the largest and priciest model on this list. However, for those who need room for the whole family and loads of gear for road trips, the LX remains a stellar option on both the used and new market. Retaining 51.7 percent of its value over five years, pricing for used LX models really covers a broad spectrum depending on mileage and condition, though the big utility has become more popular - and expensive to buy - in recent years. Redesigned for 2022, the LX is quite a bit pricier to acquire new, however, as it starts out at around $90k.
