Low Mile 2000 LX470 Looks Fantastic Two Decades Later
The rugged and reliable Lexus LX makes an excellent used vehicle purchase, especially when it's as clean as this one.
Rugged Rig
For our money, few vehicles measure up to the do-it-all Lexus LX. Older examples are beginning to gain steam as collectibles, too, which makes sense given their rugged nature and reliability. So we weren't surprised to see this clean '00 example sell for solid money at a recent Bring a Trailer auction.

Little Use
This 20-year-old LX has only 67k miles on the clock, which obviously makes it more desirable than most. That little use has also left the 'ute in fantastic condition. It was also a one-owner vehicle until the Spring of 2019 when it was acquired by the selling dealer.

Nicely Equipped
The great-looking utility is finished in an attractive shade of Cashmere Beige over an Ivory leather interior. As is the case with all LXs, it's also nicely equipped with goodies including running boards, a roof rack, a hitch receiver, a power sunroof, wood interior trim, a height-adjustable suspension, and power rear vent windows.

Fully Loaded
The leather upholstery is in good condition for the vehicle's age and is accented by lots of wood trim on the steering wheel, center console, gear shifter, and door panels. The heated and power-adjustable driver's seat also has memory settings. Additional amenities include a Lexus/Nakamichi audio system, automatic climate control, rear climate controls, and power windows, mirrors, and door locks.

Few Niggles
There are only a few niggles to point out in this otherwise-stellar interior. For starters, the sunroof isn't currently working. The original owner installed a radar detector under the steering wheel and a dash-mounted Magellan GPS navigation unit, but it's no longer there and the mounting bracket remains in place.

Maintenance Items
The LX's much-beloved and highly reliable 4.7-liter V8 remains in place in a nicely detailed engine bay. The timing belt, alternator, steering pump, and muffler have all been replaced recently, and the oil was also changed. But we imagine that this legendary powerplant is good to go for a very long time now.

Positive Attributes
Overall, this clean Lexus LX has held up very well over the last two decades, which doesn't surprise us in the least. After all, these big 'utes are known for their toughness and supreme comfort. And that will only make them more valuable moving forward as more and more people realize the LX's many positive attributes.
