LS 500 Inspiration Series Presents Some Very Cool Features

Lexus made waves when it rolled out the brand new LS 500 Inspiration Series for the 2020 model year, a car that's limited to just 300 examples. The goal of this special model is to elevate the brand's flagship to another lofty level, and Lexus did just that with a host of cool and unique touches. Motoring was lucky enough to spend some time behind the wheel of a new Inspiration Series LS 500 recently, and they were quick to point out their five favorite features of the car in this very cool video.

Rear Seat Pampering

"The rear seats can be adjusted in 22 different directions by this gorgeous touchscreen," Motoring notes. "And there's even an ottoman should your legs grow weary. You can even dial in a heated massage of varying intensity." Throw in a set of power sunscreens to dim things down, and you've got one heck of a nice place to spend some time on the road. If you can find someone to drive the car for you, that is.

Amazing Details

No matter where you sit in the LS 500 Inspiration Series, you can't help but pay attention to its amazing little details. "The attention to detail and patenting of the laser-cut wood inlays peppered around the vehicle are equal parts striking and mesmerizing," Motoring said. "Fashioned from walnut timber, the design is supposed to represent tiny little Lexus "L" logos. I really don't see it, but with these gorgeous visuals on display, who cares what it's supposed to represent?"

Artful Grille

That attention to detail carries on to many other parts of the car, including the exterior, where there's one design, in particular, you may not notice at first glance. "Most cars have a front grille. The LS 500 has artwork," Motoring points out. "There are 5,032 individual grid facets in the massive grille designed to represent tiny interlocking L motifs. To achieve this effect, Lexus created a custom mold that took six months to design and is finished by a master craftsman."

Fine Leather

With a car like this, you wouldn't expect to sit in any sort of old leather. And you won't. "The flagship Lexus is covered with acres of chestnut-colored semi-aniline leather-accented upholstery," Motoring points out. "From the seats to the armrests and even the door inserts. There are even elements across the dashboard and instrument cluster that feature stitching and fine details. It's arguably the highest quality leather in its class."

Ultra Rare

The final cool thing about the LC 500 Inspiration Series is its inherent exclusivity, which is a big deal to high-end luxury car buyers. "Lexus has only built several hundred of these cars globally," Motoring says. "But only eight of these Japanese beasties will be coming to Australia. Making this machine as rare as an honest politician."

Raising the Bar

It's pretty clear that Lexus' intentions with the LC 500 Inspiration Series are to take an already fantastic machine and make it even better. And they've clearly done a great job of hitting that goal. If nothing else, you'll have a great time just sitting in the thing, looking around and discovering all the cool little details that truly set it apart from every other flagship sedan out there in the world.
