1. Fresh Face for Aging SUV

The Lexus LX 570 has remained, largely unchanged, in its current form for nearly a decade. That's pretty much unheard of in the automotive world today. But the big off-road 'ute continues to sell well, so why fix what isn't broken? If you're in the market for a 2018 LX 570 and want a little bit of a styling update, however, you aren't stuck without at least one option. Because Toyota Racing Development recently rolled out a body kit for the big bodied SUV.

2. Teething Details

Of course, there is a bit of a catch. TRD is selling the kit in Japan, so you'll have to order it from the land of the rising sun and then get it installed (or do it yourself). If you're lucky enough to live in the Middle East or Russia, however, you're in luck. Because you'll be able to order the TRD kit already installed as an optional trim package called "Superior."

3. Up Front

The most striking part of TRD's kit for the LX resides up front. The restyled front bumper gives the SUV a much more aggressive look, as does the updated spindle grille. TRD claims that the bumper helps generate additional downforce and improve straight line stability, too. It does sit 30mm lower than the stock bumper, however, which somewhat hurts the LX's off-road clearance. And you'll have to actually remove the bumper and grille if you need to attach a tow hook. Price? A mere $2,074 for both parts.

4. Out Back

Like the front bumper, the rear bumper features more aggressive styling and it also sits 30mm lower than the stock unit. And also like the front piece, you'll have to remove the rear bumper spoiler if you need to attach a tow hook. But hey, that's a small price to pay to look cool, right? A painted rear bumper will set you back roughly $721.

5. Wheels

If you want to complete the "Superior" look on your LX, you'll also need to order up this special set of black 21" forged wheels. TRD says they're lighter than the stock hoops, which reduces unsprung mass, and in turn improves the handling prowess of the big 'ute. They'll set you back a lot more money than the body kit, however, with an asking price of $6,765.
