Good to Great

It's no secret that, at least in our eyes, the Lexus RC F is one of the most visually striking cars on the road today. But when you take that sheet metal and paint it matte gray as Club Lexus member Gearbangin did, it makes this already beautiful car even better looking.

Track Duty

Gearbangin originally purchased his RC F with the intentions of replacing his highly modified IS F track car. He also plans on tracking this particular car, as well as adding a host of mods in the future.

Mod Heaven

Those mods include a host of parts from RR Racing, as well as two-piece brakes, a supercharger, and full suspension. But even he admits that the RC F is quite comfortable compared to his former hardcore racer.

Tests of Precision

After a while, the differences between the two become quite clear. "I like the car a lot. Coming from IS F, which I tracked a few times, I can tell that the IS F was more planted on high-speed turns, especially on tight corners. The RC F is heavy, trying to point the nose on a turn and I have to brake a little early because I know I am going to need it. The IS F was more agile, a bit more precise."

Controversy Surfaces

There was a lot of confusion surrounding the RC F's 10th-anniversary color given the fact that this wasn't the 10th-anniversary car. And it's then that Gearbangin reveals that his car wasn't originally painted that color, but he did commission it through a paint shop.

Land of Confusion

The job was done so flawlessly that you certainly can't blame people for being confused. And that confusion only grew when you notice that Gearbangin even went so far as to add 10th-anniversary badges to the car.

Totally Worth It

But when you live in the States and want a car you can't buy here, what else can you do but build your own? This job certainly wasn't cheap by any means, but it most certainly was worth it in our opinion.

Make It Loud

Of course, looks aren't the only thing Gearbanging was concerned with upgrading. He soon swapped out the exhaust for a custom x-pipe, with a resonator and 2nd cat delete. And then, PPE headers to finish the job.

Squared Up

Now that the car was sounding great, it was time to get back to looks. And those got upgraded in a big way thanks to a host of carbon-fiber add-ons. Not to mention a new square wheel and tire setup for the track.

Finished?

At this point, we can confidently say that Gearbangin has one of the very best looking RC Fs on the road today. But you can bet that he's not finished yet, so head over here to stay tuned for future updates!
