Mint Lexus LS400 Will Take You Straight Back to the '90s

We've seen at least one Lexus LS go over a million miles, but it's still nice to see a low-mile example every now and then.

Rare Find

The Lexus LS enjoys a stellar reputation for reliability, one that still resonates with us today. So people typically aren't scared away by cars with well over six-figure mileage, as we've seen that they're capable of going well over a million with not too much trouble. But still, we still get a little googly-eyed when we come across the rare low-mile example. And this gorgeous 1993 LS400 that recently cross the virtual block at Bring a Trailer certainly fits the bill.

Basically New

With just 34k miles on the clock, the new owner of this LS is buying essentially a brand new one. Which means, of course, that it's good for a few hundred thousand more. We're not exactly sure how the car survived so long with so few miles, but we can derive some clues from the auction listing.

Purely Mint

For starters, this LS was a one-owner car until the seller acquired it this year. Presumably to flip, but those are the breaks we suppose. Regardless, the gorgeous gold sedan looks like it's lived its entire life in storage, with no blemishes on its record to indicate that there have been any repairs along the way, either.

Always in Style

To us at least, there's no better presentation of a '90s Lexus LS than a gold/beige exterior and chrome wheels. Gold badges complete the look, along with darker lower body cladding. Some may call the look boring for these times we live in. But to us, the classy LS from this era will never go out of style.

Fair Weather Cruiser

Inside and out, the condition of this particular car supports its low mileage claim. The undercarriage is particularly clean, clearly never seeing any salty roads. We're not sure where this particular LS lived its life prior to being acquired by the seller, but it clearly wasn't in their state of New Jersey. Or, at least it wasn't driven in the winter there.

Tape It

Move to the interior, and you'll see that things don't get any worse for wear. The tan hides look to be in great condition, along with everything else in sight. And even better, it's all completely original, right down to the cassette deck. You may not have any to stick in there and play, but we're sure you can snag some songs off the radio and build the greatest '90s hits playlist for your commute.

Time Machine

Looking at these pics, you might just think you're looking at old stock photos. The interior is honestly just in that kind of condition. Even the carpet looks to be stain-free, which is hard to do with such a light color. And of course, all of the switches and knobs work, including the selectable driving modes and dual-zone climate control.

Ready to Run

The same goes for the engine bay, which is in excellent condition for the car's age and mileage. It certainly could be detailed if you want a little more shine, but that's not really necessary. Most importantly, it looks like an engine primed to cover a lot more distance in the coming years than it has prior.

Drive It or Stash It?

First-gen Lexus LS models certainly don't get much better than this beauty. And we have to think that the $13k sale price turns out to be a steal for the new owner. Now, whether they decide to keep the car stored away or get it out and drive it remains to be seen. But we personally vote for the latter of the two!
