What's In a Name?

The Toyota GR Supra, despite receiving a bit of criticism for the automaker's decision to essentially revive a legend on BMW underpinnings, has since won the hearts of many enthusiasts. And now, those that live in Europe are getting a new variant of the MKV dubbed the Jarama Racetrack Edition, named after Spain's Circuito del Jarama, which is where Toyota held the first-drive media event for the newest Supra.

Exterior Features

Only 90 units of the Jarama Racetrack Edition Supra will be built, each one of them destined for Europe only when the car launches this spring. All of them are finished in Horizon Blue with black accents, 19-inch alloy wheels, and red brake calipers.

Upgraded Cabin

On the inside, the Supra Jarama Racetrack Edition features black Alcantara upholstery with blue contrast stitching, carbon fiber dash trim, and a special plaque on the dashboard that features each car's production number, which is right next to a silhouette of the Jarama circuit.

Tech Features

The special edition Supra comes with an array of standard tech and safety features including an 8.8-inch touchscreen, GPS with 3D mapping, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability, a 10-speaker audio system, and Supra Connect access for connected services.

Safety Features

The Jarama Racetrack Edition also comes with Toyota's Supra Safety+ package of driver-assist and safety systems, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot control, lane detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition.

Less Power

The Jarama Racetrack Edition is available only with the Supra's 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six powerplant, which produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque - quite a bit less than the 382 horsepower we get here in the U.S., strangely enough. Regardless, that power flows to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, and Toyota says the car will do 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds.

Instant Collector's Item

Toyota has not yet announced pricing for the super limited edition Jarama Racetrack Edition Supra, but we imagine that the lucky 90 buyers who scoop one up will have an instant collector's item. And that will undoubtedly make them worth the asking price.
