Intro

Lexus just turned a 2024 GX 550 into a culinary experience on wheels. The luxury car brand has collaborated with luxury appliance brand Monogram to create the Lexus Monogram GX. The vehicle will make its official debut at the Food & Wine Classic, June 14-16 in Aspen, Colorado.

Food and wine are the perfect pairing. But an off-road SUV and luxury appliances? Well, it might not sound like something that should be combined. However, seeing pictures of the finished product, we certainly wouldn’t mind having one of these at our next tailgate party. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a delicious baked pizza fresh out of a Monogram 30-inch Smart Flush Hearth Oven at the campsite or football game?

This unique SUV / kitchen / bar is loaded with custom touches. There is no price listed for this one-off creation but if you ever priced out Monogram appliances, you know this was not an inexpensive build. However a greater concern is that this project vehicle may not even be road legal. The Lexus legal team added a disclaimer at the bottom of the press release which reads: “The vehicle shown is a special project vehicle modified with non-Lexus parts that may void warranty, negatively impact safety, and not be street legal.” We got a chuckle out of that. Putting legal issues aside for a moment, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Lexus Monogram GX such an incredible creation.

Overall Design

Before we get to the individual features, let’s spend a moment talking about the overall design. From the outside, aside from the double rear doors, custom wheels, and some badging and accents, the Monogram GX doesn’t look all that different than a standard GX. But step inside and you will see the work of celebrated interior designer, Richard T. Anuszkiewicz. The vehicle is trimmed in a two-toned camel leather custom patterned interior. The metal fixtures are a mix of brass and titanium. Dekton slate stone accents are also sprinkled about the interior.

Monogram 30-Inch Smart Flush Hearth Oven

The centerpiece of the Monogram GX has to be the Monogram 30-inch Smart Flush Hearth Oven. This $9,000 electric hearth oven is designed to mimic the performance of a wood-fired brick oven to cook up delicious pizzas and breads. If only I had this in the back of my car when I was delivering pizzas in college.

Monogram Forge Heated Ice Press

$1,500 for an ice cube might sound steep. But those with discerning tastes know how important it is to have a perfectly crafted ice sphere. The Forge Heated Ice Press is housed between the rear seats. Passengers back there can create beautiful, slow melting ice that will not water down drinks. And a new ice sphere can be created every 60 seconds, so you can keep the party going.

Exterior Wine and Bourbon Storage

Stuffing a 30-inch pizza oven inside the GX does tend to rob some cargo room. So, where are you going to keep your glasses and spirits? Outside of the vehicle are pressure fitted cutouts on the exterior side panels. This is the perfect place to store bottles, glasses, openers, and any other essential items.

Chilling Compartments

The Forge Heated Ice Press is amazing for creating ice spheres to chill your drink. But it won’t work to keep your ingredients cool. For that you can use the rear cold drawer and an additional cold console compartment in the back seat. These spaces offer flexible chilling for your ingredients.

Plating Station

What culinary setup would be complete without a plating station? The Monogram GX has it covered with cutlery and a trash bin located in the trunk. Inside one of the rear doors you will also find your pizza peel which almost looks too nice to use.

Wine and Spirits Bar

And finally, the wine and spirits bar round out the upgrades on this incredible custom Lexus. Inside the rear door you have your bar kit, glassware, bitters, and folding cutting board.

Obviously, the Monogram GX is not something that you will be seeing at your local Lexus dealer any time soon. But what do you think of the concept? Would you pay for a rolling luxury kitchen? Let us know your thoughts.
