Next-Gen Lexus NX Leaked in New Video
Thanks to a massive leak, we now know what the 2022 NX looks like.
Massive Leak
We've known for some time that a new Lexus NX was coming for the 2022 model year. But outside of that fact, little to no information about the refreshed compact luxury crossover has leaked. However, a massive leak has occurred as Lexus accidentally posted a video of the new NX recently, which CarBuzz noticed and was able to snag screenshots of before it was taken down.
Refined Exterior
The exterior of the NX has been completely restyled, with slimmer headlights sporting that familiar L-shaped daytime running light we've come to expect from Lexus, a more refined front grille, and a new LED light bar in the rear, which is all the rage with automotive designers these days.

Overhauled Cabin
The interior has received a major overhaul as well, incorporating Lexus' Tazuna design concept and a host of high-tech elements. That includes a digital instrument cluster and a large, horizontally-oriented touchscreen that's tilted toward the driver.

Driver-Focused
The new touchscreen features a host of physical controls beneath it, however, which is not something many modern autos bother with. It, like everything else in the 2022 NX's cabin, is driver-focused, which is something that we typically see in sports cars these days.

More Agile
The new NX is expected to be underpinned by the same TNGA-K platform as the new Toyota RAV4, and Lexus promises that it will be more agile than before. The automaker also confirmed in the video that for the first time, a plug-in hybrid version - dubbed the 450h+ - will be available.

Possible Powertrain
As far as powertrains go, the hybrid could borrow the RAV4 Prime's 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and dual electric motors, which in that model produce a combined 302 horsepower. But as of right now, we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out.

Making Promises
Lexus did confirm in the video that the new NX would be more powerful and dynamic than the outgoing model, with more technology as well. Considering how well the current NX still sells despite its age, we imagine that the new model will only continue that success for years to come.
