Obsidian 3rd Gen Lexus IS Rebuilt as Weekend Warrior

Weekend Toy

Many of us daily drive our Lexus vehicles, which makes a lot of sense. After all, these luxurious rides pamper us and provide us with a much more joyous driving experience than your average transportation. But if you're lucky enough to have one as your weekend toy like Club Lexus member whoismiked, you can also justify jazzing it up with some cool mods.

Good Taste

Unlike a lot of fair weather cruisers, however, the OP states up front that they want to exercise good taste with this build. So it's obviously not going to go overboard and become some sort of show-only vehicle. Funny enough, it came into their possession after its predecessor was stolen, but quickly became their favorite car to drive.

Blacked Out

Thus, the mods began with a host of goodies for the exterior. That includes a Nia full splitter lip kit, OEM rear spoiler, chrome delete, matte black emblems, a roof spoiler, and an Ikonmorotorsports rear diffuser. The fully blacked-out Lexus looks sinister now, and won't need to be washed as much thanks to its weekend status.

Dark to Bright

Completing this theme is a set of black 18x8.5 TSW Seabring wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber and dark ceramic window tint all around. But some things are better bright, and that led the OP to install a set of Xenon White 6000k bulbs in the fog lights and reverse lights.

Performance Side

Next, this IS owner attacked the performance side of things in a variety of ways. That includes an Ark Grip cat-back exhaust, RR Racing ECU tune, and F-Sport intake. On the suspension side, this IS has been treated to RC-F bushings, RSR down springs, and SPC rear camber arms and front ball joints to help it hug the corners a little better.

Revamped Interior

With pretty much everything else receiving at least a few mods, the OP couldn't ignore the interior. So it's received things like new sun visors, LED lighting, a thumping stereo with an Android head unit, carbon fiber interior trim throughout, and a center console tray organizer.

Ongoing Build

All together, this Lexus IS is a comprehensive build that has more than earned its weekend warrior status.
