Renderings Imagine a More Practical Lexus ES Wagon
The ES looks so good as a wagon it makes us wonder why Lexus doesn't make one.

Practical Alternative
One thing most would never accuse a Lexus vehicle of being is impractical. However, wagons, crossovers, and SUVs are more practical than sedans, as they offer far more in the way of cargo and sometimes passenger space as well. And that's where the inspiration behind these Lexus ES wagon renderings by Sugar Design came from.

Non Existent
The ES has been around for a long time now - since 1989 - and yet, Lexus has never offered a wagon version of it as it did with the IS 300 SportCross. These renderings prove that such a machine would look pretty darn cool, not to mention add a ton of utility to a popular model.

Big Changes
Based on the prior-gen ES, these renderings retain the car's stock appearance at the front, but that certainly isn't the case in the back. There, Sugar Design extended the roofline all the way back, adding a subtle rear spoiler in the process. The trunk lid is now gone, replaced by a tailgate for easy access to the rear cargo area.

OEM Looks
Super Design retained all of the ES's original styling cues, including the chrome trim in the rear, which gives these renderings a truly OEM look. If you didn't know any better, you might think that you're looking at a car created in a Lexus design studio.

Celebrated Bodystyle
Performance and luxury-focused wagons are a small niche in the automotive world, but they have a dedicated fan base. Today, enthusiasts have a few to choose from, including the Audi A4 Avant, Mercedes-AMG E63, and BMW 3-Series Touring, to name a few. So why not a Lexus variant, too?

Coming to Fruition?
Of course, the actual chances of something like this ES wagon coming to life are quite slim, as we are talking about a very niche product here since most Americans have moved on to crossovers and SUVs. But we wagon lovers can still appreciate these renderings for bringing such a creation to life in a different way, at least.
