1. A Real Time Capsule

Just when you think that all the old, low-mileage Lexus vehicles are gone, another one just keeps popping up. The latest? This incredible 2001 Lexus LX470, sporting only 1,000 original miles on the clock. But this isn't your average barn find, not by a long shot! Apparently, the basically brand new truck was stolen straight off of a dealer lot back in 2001. But that's when the truth becomes stranger than fiction.

2. Lost and Found

Instead of parting it out, selling it to an unsuspecting party, or shipping it overseas, the thieves who snagged the LX stored it in a warehouse. Along with a couple dozen other stolen vehicles, in fact. And there it sat, for many years, until the warehouse was discovered and all the luxury machinery recovered. And the Lexus now sports a salvage title since it was paid off by the insurance company following its theft.

3. Museum Quality

The seller claims that this could be the lowest mileage LX470 left in the world, and we wouldn't dispute it. But of course, we've been proven wrong before! Regardless, this Lexus is one amazing time capsule. The factory plastic film is still covering the radio, and pretty much everything else looks virtually untouched. The current owner acquired the SUV with around 900 miles and proceeded to give it a full service. The original tires were even left in place in case the LX winds up in a museum somewhere. Which is probably where it belongs!

4. Future Classic?

The second-generation LX isn't exactly a collector's item now, but the truck's off-road lineage might make it one in the future. They have a reputation for quality and reliability, and their looks are obviously timeless. In 2001, the LX came well equipped with a 230 hp 4.7-liter V8, stability control, leather, and sunroof. And even a cassette player, if you remember what those are.

5. Beautiful Ride, Scary Price

The biggest problem with this amazing find, of course, is the price tag. The LX was originally listed on eBay with a starting bid of $140,000 and went up to $145,111, yet still didn't meet the reserve price. That's absurd money for something that isn't exactly sought after, especially when you consider the fact that you can buy a brand new LX for around $90k. But when you've got what might be the nicest, lowest mile LX 470 in existence, we suppose you can almost name your own price!
