Lexus Secures First Win in Japan Since 2013

The #38 Zent Cerumo car, driven by Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura, took home the win in the second round of the 2017 Super GT at Fuji. Following a pole position start, the #38 LC500 held off all challengers as Ishiura and three times Super GT champion Tachikawa brought Lexus its first win in Japan in four years.

#36 TOM's Lexus Secures Second Place

James Rossiter and the #36 TOM's Lexus managed to get around the #23 Nissan GT-R of Ronnie Quintarelli and fend off last year's champion Heikki Kovalainen to secure second place behind the #38 Lexus. A late pit stop caused Rossiter to slip to third place briefly, but he was able to recover by the end.

#1 Denso Lexus Completes the Trifecta

Lexus finished off their 1-2-3 podium sweep with a third-place finish by the #1 Denso car, driven by last year's champion Heikki Kovalainen. He managed to slip by the #36 car after a late pit stop but ultimately lost that spot once again after a heated battle.

#37 KeePer TOM's Car Finishes Fifth

Lexus wasn't finished or content with sweeping the podium, however. Not too far behind was the #37 KeePer TOM's car, piloted by Nick Cassidy. Cassidy worked his way up from a seventh-place podium start to finish fifth, securing four of the top five spots for Lexus.
