Daily Slideshow: The World's Fastest Lexus

Probably the guys at EKanoo after they shook more than just asphalt with this lightning quick pass. It’s only when you look at the numbers you understand how truly staggering these speeds are…

Building Blocks

Engines are the heart of drag racing vehicles and this one uses 526 cubic building blocks and two huge turbochargers to produce 4,5000 horsepower. If that sounds like a lot it will reassure you to know that it is. With the fastest production cars typically clocking quarter miles in the 10-second range you can start to understand just how fast this car hurtles it’s occupant down a 1,320ft drag strip.

It’s a Trap!

Trap speeds on a 5.379-second pass are pretty hard to understand since the only thing you can compare them to don’t make sense either. This car is doing the same speed as some of the fastest standing mile cars in 25% of the distance. For further comparison consider that it takes the Bugatti Chiron 41.96 seconds to reach 248mph from a standstill. By the time you click through a few gears in your Chiron, the EKanoo RC-F would be in another dimension.

You Could Have Bought It!

Put up for sale earlier this year the car was acquired by Pharris Motorsports in Missouri which has a long-standing history of their own drag racing success. The car will go on to compete in the Radial Competition which is a U.S. based drag series. Let’s see if it can dominate on U.S. drag strips the same way it did in Bahrain where it has originally campaigned! Price of the final sale undisclosed.

Interior to Survive For

When you rail down a straightaway at speeds only familiar to Barry Allen you’re going to want to feel safe when you strap in. Slowing the car down is a parachute system everyone is familiar with and inside is a robust cage and all the know-how of experienced fabricators to keep the car’s new owner confident every time he stabs the throttle down to make a potentially record-breaking run.

Testament to Quality

Not many cars in racing are so successful they are simply purchased and run in another series with the idea of going out to win. Ekanoo builds quality drag cars that prove their salt every time they hit the strip and that gets recognition from other guys who do the same. It’s cool to see a car travel from one side of the world all the way to another with the same intent: kick ass and take names. Good luck to Pharris Motorsports and their pursuit of victory in the Ekanoo Racing RC-F Lexus!!!
