Best of the Best
Lexus has certainly racked up its fair share of accolades over the years, whether it's being recognized for its supreme quality or overall superiority compared to rivals and pretty much everything in between. That remained true in the Houston Chronicle's latest Critic's Choice awards, which saw Lexus walk away with not just one, but two different individual model awards this year.

Best Sports Car - 2023 Lexus LC 500
First up, we have the Lexus LC 500, which earned the honor or "Best Sports Car" in the latest version of these awards. Even though it has been around for quite a few years now, the LC still "held onto its unofficial title of being the prettiest sports car of 2023," according to our reviewer, but it isn't just looks that make the stylish coupe so darn appealing.

The LC managed to beat out vaunted rivals like the Corvette and Mercedes-AMG SL 43 by providing superior in terms of comfort, with seats that provide a sublime experience whether you're out carving corners or taking a road trip. Plus, our reviewer notes that they appreciate the fact that the LC blazes its own path and doesn't try to copy anyone else, too.

Best Midsize Sedan - 2024 Lexus ES 300h
Next up, we have the Lexus ES 300h, which earned the honor of being this year's Best Midsize Sedan. Though this is obviously a shrinking segment, there are plenty of folks out there that still love a great luxury sedan, and the ES delivers in that regard with comfy confines and excellent hybrid-assisted fuel economy of around 40 mpg.

The one downside to the hybrid ES is that it isn't going to thrill anyone with raw speed or handling prowess, as it's a car with "acceptable but modest performance and Cloud 9 ride quality," according to our reviewer. But given the fact that it's a comfortable and efficient cruiser with a reasonable price tag, the ES 300h has plenty of appeal, even if it won't blow anyone's socks off when they lean into the gas pedal.
