Supra Fanatic

Josh Nepa, the owner of this bad boy, is no stranger to Supras or extraordinary builds. In fact, his widebody MKV GR Supra was a prominent attraction at the SEMA Show in 2019. But judging by the level of love and attention that he has put into this 1998 Supra, we'd guess this MKIV is his favorite.

Jackpot

Nepa found this '98 Supra for sale by its original owner back in 2009. He knew he was about to hit the jackpot when he saw the listing for an unmolested, bone-stock Supra in Los Angeles. So he immediately sold his Range Rover and flew to LA from his hometown of Phoenix, AZ to make the purchase.

The Project Begins

And he began the ongoing process of modifying and enhancing the Supra almost immediately. In his first year of owning the car, he had already increased the power output to 550 horses. And for most people, that would be enough. But after a losing battle against a boosted Honda Accord, he made the decision to go all out and extract as much power from the 2JZ as possible.

Various Iterations

And when we say it's been an ongoing process, we mean it! The Supra has gone through a few different visual transformations. It started out as red, then it was wrapped with white camo, and then purple. The bodywork has been changing and improving constantly as well. And the stone-cold grey color scheme it currently wears may not be the final look for Nepa's Supra.

More Power

The Rocket Bunny body kit, which was originally designed for the FR-S, has been modified and fabricated to fit the Supra. And even the kit has gone through phases of enhancements. And while a 1,000-horsepower mill is usually the highlight of any build, this particular project has so much to talk about that the reworked 2JZ with a huge Borg Warner turbo feels like just another piece of the puzzle.

Always Evolving

And in true show car fashion, no stone is left unturned. A supremely powerful sound system is at work here, but we can't imagine any audio would be more satisfying than the sound of the monstrous motor escaping through the exhaust. And of course, the '98 Supra rides on an Air Lift 3P/3H airbag setup, which was installed shortly after the car was shot by SuperStreet. Nepa still plans on more alterations to the Supra, and wants to kick the power output up to 1,300 by the end of this month!
