Intro

Lexus builds some terrific automobiles. They are reliable, well-built, comfortable, and luxurious. Even people that don’t know anything about cars will tell you that. However, brutal acceleration is not a hallmark of the Lexus brand. Most drag racers don’t rush to their nearest Lexus dealership in the hopes of buying a 10-second car. But that doesn't mean that Lexus has not made some performance cars capable of rapid acceleration. We took a look back and found the ten quickest Lexus models from 0 to 60 mph. A lot of factors can impact 0 to 60 times, so to keep things as fair as possible, we pulled all times from the same source.

10. 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport – 5.6 seconds

The 2021 IS 350 F Sport packs a 3.5L naturally aspirated V-6 making 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. That power is routed to the rear wheels and can push the sport sedan to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. And it will keep on pushing until 143 mph. It is one of the quickest Lexus vehicles ever made and it deserves a spot on this list.

9. 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport – 5.5 seconds

The RX is the best-selling model in the Lexus lineup. And for good reason. It offers plenty of room for most families, will last forever and is packed with features. But it was never really much of a performer. Until now. The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport has a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with a couple of electric motors. The result is a combined 366-hp. Torque is a gaudy 406 pound-feet. That is enough grunt to get to 60 in just 5.5 seconds. You can pass a lot of unsuspecting drivers in your RX 500h F Sport.

8. 2023 Lexus LS 500 — 5.4 seconds

The LS is the flagship luxury sedan in the Lexus lineup. It is powered by a 3.4L V-6 aided by twin turbochargers. The big sedan makes a smooth 416-hp. This is a car that is all about style, space, and comfort. But don’t let that fool you into thinking it is slow. It can hit 60 mph in 5.4 seconds as you glide down the highway.

7. 2023 Lexus LC 500 Coupe — 4.6 seconds

The LC 500 Coupe is one of the best-looking cars Lexus has ever made. In fact, it is one of the best-looking cars that anyone has made in the last 20 years. But it has the brawn to match the beauty. Under the sleek hood is a naturally aspirated 5.0L V-8 cranking out 471-hp. This power flows through a 10-speed automatic transmission and it gets the stunning coupe to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds.

6. 2023 Lexus RZ 450e – 4.6 seconds

The first Lexus EV to hit the market is the RZ 450e. And it immediately became one of the quickest vehicles Lexus ever made. That may come as a surprise when you consider this SUV weighs a portly 4,600 pounds. And front and rear electric motors combine for only 308-hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. But that torque hits immediately and it rockets the RZ off the line and 60 mph arrives in just 4.6 seconds. And as quick as that is, we suspect that future Lexus EVs are only going to get quicker.

5. 2020 Lexus GS F — 4.5 seconds

The Lexus GS F has been out of production for a few years now, but it still manages to crack the top five on this list. That is mainly because of the 5.0L V-8 under the hood making 467-hp. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends that power to the rear wheels and 4.5 seconds later you are cruising at 60 mph.

4. 2012 Lexus IS F — 4.4 seconds

The IS F is one of the oldest vehicles on this list, but it is also one of the quickest. Like others on this list, power comes from a 5.0L V-8. Here it generates 416-hp. That is enough to push the under 3,800-pound sedan to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. That was quick over ten years ago and it remains quick today.

3. 2023 Lexus IS 500 F Sport – 4.3 Seconds

Barely nudging out the IS F from the podium is the much newer IS 500 F Sport. We again see the 5.0L V-8 under the hood and now it makes 472-hp. Even though the luxury sedan is pushing nearly 4,000 pounds there is still enough power to get it to 60 mph in a scant 4.3 seconds.

2. 2021 Lexus RC F Fuji — 4.0 seconds

With the RC F Fuji Speedway Edition Lexus was looking to build a track weapon. And we will give you one guess as to what engine is under the hood. Yes, it is the 5.0L V-8 making 472-hp. It is the same engine found in the IS 500 F Sport, but the RC F Fuji is nearly 200 pounds lighter. That helps the RC F get to 60 mph in just 4 seconds flat.

1. 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition— 3.7 seconds

Was there any doubt as to what the quickest Lexus of all time would be? The 4.8L V-10 powered LFA is the quickest car that Lexus ever built. In 2012 they managed to squeeze an extra 10 horsepower out of the engine for a total of 562. This super car could rocket to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and push on to 202 mph. And it produced one of the most intoxicating exhaust notes while doing it. The LFA is a legend.
