Tuning time

Gordon Ting, who is listed as an Account Director at Beyond Marketing Group, is a SoCal-based Lexus builder who is no stranger to the SEMA scene. Having modified some of our favorite Lexus cars over the last couple of years, including a Carmine Red LC 500 in 2017, we thought we'd take look back at an IS that his team did in 2013.

There is nothing especially unique about this 2014 all-wheel-drive Lexus IS 250 from Gordon Ting. In fact, very little had to be done to make this car look this good. Yes, it helps to have a pretty lady draped over the hood, but the best thing about this car is how immaculately white and clean it looks -- and well, how lady-friendly it is.

Built for SEMA

Gordon built this one for the 2013 SEMA Show and it was prominently displayed in the Toyo Tires booth. It appeared equipped with the TRD kit and one-off fender flares. These fender flares are definitely not as sick as some of the designs that have come out of Rocket Bunny or Liberty Walk, but they are sexy none-the-less, giving the IS some added style and sportiness.

Sexy goodness, outside and in

The AWD chassis was enhanced with TEIN coilovers and Brembo brakes, but what stands out most are the wheels which are adorned with bright red Gram Lights 57Xtremes. They really jump out at you against the Starfire Pearl paint slathered across this sedan's exterior. The interior is equally attention-grabbing as it sports Sparco R100 race seats with custom leather and harnesses.

A Ride for Your Ride

The project is finished off with some GReddy bolt-ons, Sparco seats and a custom roll-bar fabricated by Evasive Motorsports. This Lexus IS 250 is tamer and might not be the center of attention, but we appreciate it because it's an example of a true build any enthusiast can do. Minus the fender flares and roll-bar, everything on this car is available to the public. It demonstrates what's possible with the blank canvas of the IS. Plus, with all-wheel drive and a bike rack, you could literally take this car anywhere and a road will lead you to.
