World First

The Lexus RC F has long been a favorite of enthusiasts, a proper performance luxury coupe that comes equipped with a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 making 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. However, the folks over at Olivecrona Drift Motorsport wanted to do something a bit different, and as such, have created the world's first V12-powered RC F.

Copious Amounts of Power

As one might imagine, Olivecrona isn't just V12-swapping an RC F for fun - but rather, with an eye toward dominating the competition in the D1NZ Drifting Championship Series. The best way to do that is by giving it copious amounts of power, enough to easily overpower the rear tires and keep it sideways around the track.

Massive Output

Thus, the outfit removed the original 2UR-GSE V8, eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear differential, replacing those pieces with a twin-turbocharged 1GZ-FE V12 that's been heavily fortified with enough performance upgrades to generate an astounding 1,300 horsepower at full tilt.

Laundry List

Hartley Engines was tasked with building this monstrous motor, which features goodies such as forged pistons and connecting rods, an ITB intake manifold, custom exhaust manifolds, and 3D-printed runners, right along with the pair of aforementioned hair dryers.

Fortified Drivetrain

The giant mill sends its power to the rear wheels via a TTi 503 sequential five-speed transmission, a carbon fiber driveshaft, and a Winters quick-change differential, giving the team the ability to easily swap out gears depending on what kind of track they're competing at.

Beefy Suspension

Of course, Olivecrona would be remiss without beefing up the suspension to handle all of this extra power, and has since added a FIGS Engineering Pro Angle kit and BC Racing adjustable coilovers to its soon-to-be-sideways coupe, along with beefy six-piston front and four-piston rear Wilwood brakes.

Bit of a Sleeper

The result is a seriously impressive RC F build that - minus its gigantic wing and heavily cambered front wheels and tires - doesn't deviate much from stock. If Olivecrona ever decides that it's done drifting this monster, it would make one heck of a straight-line maven as well, we imagine.
