1. 2018 Lexus CT200h

Lexus announced early this summer that it would not only continue to build the CT200h, but that the compact hybrid hatchback would receive a refresh for 2018. This, in spite of its demise here in the United States. True to form, the restyled and updated CT made its international debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show for public consumption. And English automotive news rag Car was there to grab a few photos of the shiny new hatch.

2. Truly European Offering

Lexus decided to continue selling the CT in Europe, where consumers seem to enjoy sporty, compact rides that are also environmentally friendly and efficient. Those folks will get a sportier looking offering for 2018, thanks in large part to the introduction of an F-Sport style grille utilizing a mesh pattern in lieu of boring straight bars. The headlights are also new, and implement a more aggressive look with arrow shaped daytime running lights.

3. Sharpened Surfaces

The aggressive, sporty theme carries on out back. New L-shaped taillights give the rear of the CT a sharper look. The entire center section has been redesigned, with a mild "spoiler" peeking out above a reshaped bumper. New alloy wheels and expanded color options wrap up the external changes.

4. Still a Lexus Inside

The CT might not be as plush as its more expensive brethren, but it's still warm and inviting inside. New two-tone leather options debut for 2018, as well as expanded color and material options for seating surfaces.

5. Technology Upgrades

The first thing you'll probably notice about the 2018 CT200h is the larger, 10.3-inch screen that replaces the outgoing 7-inch unit. Otherwise, it's all about the things you can't necessarily see, like the addition of the Lexus Safety System + package. The suite of electronic driving aids includes Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with steering wheel control function, and Automatic High Beam headlights.

The updated and refreshed CT200h goes on sale later this year (unless you live in America!).
