After removing the factory shunt, I soldered in a 0.3 ohm 1w resistor. This will allow you to run simple and efficient LED bulbs without built-in resistors, and you can still run incandescent bulbs as well. It will hyperflash if an LED burns out too! Much better and cheaper than those aftermarket solutions.
